The Operation

The Operation, Tijuana, Mexico

Infrastructure

A new four-lane highway to Tijuana has contributed to the growth of the community. Lesser farm roads are often unpaved and truck slow-downs are quite common. Truck rates in Tijuana vary from $1.50 - $2.00 US per mile and are negotiable. Regular freight and container rates are quite compared to the border cities and vary from $8.00 - $11.00 per ton per kilometer. There is a rail link from Tijuana to Tecate and other Mexican cities. Rates are published, spurs to several industrial parks are available. Water, electricity, and gas are available in the central industrial area and the two new business parks.

Customs

The Border crossing in Tijuana into the United States and the Los Angelis are is one of the busiest in the world.

Over the past five years, Tijuana has experienced a stable growth and has become the television manufacturing capital of the world.
